i bleed Green...

NINE POINTS!!!

please allow me to say, nine fucking points! i love La Salle! they let down the hopes of UE. it makes me feel so good to be from La Salle. haha! (no offense to UE okay, a lot from my family are from UE).

73-64
great numbers, eh? i woke up at 530 with hopes to see it via TFC. unfortunately, they werent so good to me as they were showing a different show at this time. thankfully, i had a friend, a La Sallista too, who logged on to her messenger. she gave me detailed accounts of what was happening in the game. it was the 4th quarter and there was too much energy in the crowd. it was a close game at that time as DLSU was 2 points ahead of UE. 4th quarter and 20-some minutes in the game, it wasnt a good picture. the other fact was that we were ahead of them by 9 points at half time, so a close gap is somewhat of a troubling situation there. but thanks to more efforts by whoever (yes thanks i really wasnt watching), the gap increased with an average of 5 for the next couple of minutes. free throws due to a foul also increased the gap. DLSU got their free throws in, UE missed theirs in an occasion or two. at less than a minute, it was a 7 point gap, by 14 seconds, it was the 9 point gap. thank God, its impossible to beat now!

Hail to thee our Alma Mater, Hail! Hail! Hail!
as the game ended, i was doing a mental slideshow of possible pictures of a jolly DLSU crowd. it is such a great feeling that we have redeemed the Men's Basketball crown, a crown we missed for 4 years. the sad part only with all these is that each time media reports this happy thought, everyone gets drawn to the ordeal that we had last year. for this purpose, i shall quote ABS CBN News:
With the win, the Archers redeemed themselves from their suspension in Season 69 over a highly-publicized player eligibility scandal

this was a terrible experience, not only for the players who cannot play last year, but for the students whose love for school, love for the game, and love for justice got mixed. the eligibility scandal was painful as an alumna, at the same time the suspension/ resigning from the game for a year have brought humility. however, now, being reminded of that ordeal is such a kick. not easily forgotten i know, but can we instead lessen focus on it? the fact though is that the name will always be haunted by this. its sad and painful, but thank God, we were given another door to open.

i love my Green Archers
im so eager to have a trip home and be able to see it while the Season's on. maybe in 2009? that should be great!
