*due to Seed's request. my review of the movie Evening*
this movie is depressing. plus this movie is so painful. painful to watch because its 30 to 45 minutes too long. it was a little out of focus. the movie didnt know if it should take the form of following Ann Grant's life or should follow her life as a bookmark to what is ahead for her children.
the scenery was awesome, the HD was magnificent. but i was looking forward to crying since the story line was making me sad already and feeling depressed. but no, #1 it didnt make me cry, #2 it just was blowing out of proportion. if it followed the rendering style of The Notebook, it couldve been better (The Notebook was awesome okay, and i said if they followed the element presented in The Notebook, this movie couldve gotten 2 or 3 stars). what else? after watching this, Affair To Remember made me feel was a better movie. plus, I must say that The Lake House is at par with this movie.
there's also the little mix and match mess up in the whole story. who was the first born? was it Connie or Nina?
I must say that it was Connie but they kept on pushing it to Nina. Nina is a brunette, Connie's blonde. In one of the scenes, it showed Connie as a little girl, playing with her doll, and wanting to just go home. but mom was working in the bar, and mom cannot afford getting someone to babysit so she brought baby Connie to her work place. Then the next scene showed Connie and Nina on the dining table. the supposed young Nina was a little grown up that the little Connie. what the? in those two cases, if Nina was older, then where was she when Connie was with mommy at work and cannot pay for a babysitter? the other parts that messed up the whole who's the older sister thing is when she said that Connie's dad was the Best Man, and Nina's dad was some other guy she met. the whole love story part revolved around Lila's wedding where she was the Maid of Honor and supposed first husband, which is Connie's dad, is the Best Man. plus, it was also the way she delivered the lines right? Connie first, Nina last. then when she was talking to Harris in New York before she left for Cali, she said that she had a daughter with the Best Man (whoever that best man's name is). so see? the movie was confusing the audience. plus, if i may add, Toni Collette is younger than the girl who played Connie in real life. like 9 years! hello?!?
im sorry but i really have a lot to bash on this movie. the first scene itself made the worst amateurish shot i have ever seen in a serious movie. so the scene was zoomed on the fields then zooming out slowly then pan to the left side to show the approaching bus. the thing was zoomed in, zooming out, but oops! it went 2 seconds fast on zoom out that the camera person had to zoom it in again the next second. thats just awful! you see the difference. really. that was actually hilarious that you cant take the thing seriously.
the story was okay. it was about Ann who loved Harris but Buddy loved her and the Best Man liked her. Lila, Ann's bestfriend who got married, also felt that she still has that love that she feels for Harris. what else? Buddy was so jealous of Harris. Harris was Ann's greatest love. Harris also seemed to have the same level of affection to Ann. damn! it was a web and in the middle of it was Ann. It was sad since you couldve just wanted Harris and Ann to be together, but all you can do is speculate for whatever reason they moved on without being with each other. on the other hand, people will feel pity for Buddy who had the biggest affection for Ann, that he was always there for him and all that as a friend, but she took all signs for granted (that sucks aint it?).
i think i should be in love to watch this movie and appreciate it. and also, it should be great if you are in love and watch it with the one you love. but there are other movies. so maybe, just watch another movie. try License To Wed? nah!!! forget it!

That just sounds like a big mistake.
They should do a sequel Evening 2:Daybreak and make it when they were babies and film it like Look "Who's Talking Too". Maybe it would clear things up.... or not.
that should be a major disaster and a straight to the DVD release. i hope a company would even buy the rights for that one. =p
